the leelah alcorn bs
post here about it
(if you didn't know what it is a trans woman killed herself because of her parents who weren't supportive at all and sent her to christian "therapists" who just told her that she was wrong and god is right. and they cut off all of her contact with the outside world.)
(p.s. if it was me in her position i would have just ran away from home and never looked back, never made contact with my parents ever again)

Re: the leelah alcorn bs
also i might seem like a wimp but i was actually upset when i first read the news about her
and then i went on reddit and that made me even more sad because i read that some people's parents even sent them to "gay cure camps" by force
the fact that this is allowed to happen in developed countries is despicable, you'd think that a. sending children to aggressive "gay camps" would be illegal and b. that parents would care more about their children
and yes i know there's worse shit to worry about like ebola or palestine or famines but this is seriously sickening to me

Re: the leelah alcorn bs
i'm pretty apathetic to it at this point because it's the same shit that's been going on for years now
also because spent a little under six hours fighting off viral and SJWs who seriously think i am transphobic because i dared to use s/he to refer to alcorn

also, they're christians, why are people so impressed? literally the only reason that conversion camps continue to exist is because of christians
Re: the leelah alcorn bs
well that needs to be illegal to have conversion camps
conversion camps is only five letters away from concentration camps

Re: the leelah alcorn bs
one of the worst things about this is the fact that people are using it as an excuse for throwing around transphobia and transphobic as buzzwords against people they don't like
Re: the leelah alcorn bs
also, my personal favorite quote from all of this
fucking quality logic
I’m tired of hearing “be tolerant of people with different opinions on social issues than you” why would I be tolerant of people who won’t tolerate or even see me or my friends as people
fucking quality logic
Re: the leelah alcorn bs
transgendered people at my university are weird
like, they (kind of) look like girls, but refuse to shave their beards and stuff like that (i saw one that dyed their patchy beard pink)
if you are going to be transgendered, i would say to at least make an effort to "pass"
